Effects of quitting smoking

July 2, 2009 · Filed Under Anxiety · Comment

Mark Twain said, “Quitting smoking is easy. I’ve done it a thousand times.” Why is quitting and staying quit hard for so many people?
It is because of nicotine addiction. Nicotine reduces anxiety, raises mood levels and increases alertness. And when the smokers quit, the effort of quitting increases levels of anxiety and depression.
People who are fairly dependent on cigarettes need to incorporate multiple sources of help in their quitting plan to maximize their odds of success. Those who are less dependent on cigarettes may be successful by using only a few sources of help. However, the more help you have, the better your chances of quitting and staying smoke-free. Help sources can include support and encouragement from family and friends, professional counseling and assistance, chemical products such as gum or patches and if you are really ready for an enjoyable stop smoking experience, try a spa or fitness retreat.
Quitting smoking is a two-step process that includes:

Senior dating

A life partner is essential for life. There is no juice in life if life is lead single handedly with no one around to share the joys and sorrows. It is painful for the people above 50 years of age who have no one to share their lifetime.

Calming is a safe and time-tested Ayurvedic formula designed to ease stress and tension, encouraging a state of relaxed alertness without drowsiness. This healing formula contains organic Chamomile (Matricaria recutita), an herbal nervine that supports, soothes and rejunenates the nerves. Known for its mild, apple-like flavor, Chamomile has been used as a calming agent for centuries and is widely regarded for the way in which it helps compose the mind and cool the body. Lemon Grass is also included in this formula, as it is a popular antispasmodic and mild anti-irritant. Our blend is complemented with Bacopa Leaf (Gotu Kola), a healing nerve tonic that helps promote blood flow, supports the nervous system and has been shown to boost the memory. A favorite nervine of Western herbalism, this leaf is also known as a cardiotonic that scientific studies have shown to be particulary effective in boosting cognitive functions and calming over-active children. We have also included Hibiscus Flower, which helps cool the body, and Fennel Seed, which aids in calming the muscles, improving digestion and calming flatulence and stomach troubles. Calming tea will help you stay calm throughout the day and is also great for children.

Visualization for anxiety

June 30, 2009 · Filed Under Anxiety · Comment

Visualization for anxiety is a wonderful thing as it teaches you about how false and irrational your subconscious mind is. It also teaches you regardless of how much panic you experience or how anxious you feel but it can’t hurt you. Through visualization for anxiety, instead of fleeing from the situation and visualizing another reality, you should accept what is. Feel the panic and anxiety at its fullest and enjoy yourself. As you experience your visualization for anxiety, you can have two choices. One choice is to run away and avoid the situation and the horrid feelings, and let the mind win. By doing so, you are not helping yourself and will only get worse. Curing yourself is also not possible. Second choice is that you can go right into the feelings as you feel them fully. Understand the fact that no matter how bad this visualization for anxiety is, it’s still an illusion and won’t be able to hurt you. All you have to do is to feel fully the visualization for anxiety and look forward to those anxious moments.

Quit smoking aids in general come in three different types. First is the type of mental preparation and education aids. These help you to understand the dangers and health concerns associated with nicotine usage. It is the emotional incentive provided when your child or spouse shows they care about your health to beg you to quit smoking. A child especially can be a tremendous incentive to your emotional commitment to quit smoking.

Praise for “A Time for Relaxation, Vol. 1″

“I purchased your CD via iTunes yesterday….to help me relax during this volatile and crazy time in the world and in the economy. I listened to quite a few voices on the iTunes list of relaxation CD’s, including PhD psychologists, etc.. Your voice instantly soothed me and thus my selection of yours.

My husband and I listened to it last night, he fell asleep, and I went into a profound state of relaxation and meditation. It was terrific. It continued for 10 minutes after your CD finished so that was really significant.

…so thank you for a great CD!”

Mady Goldstein, NYC
